Shardiya Navratri is a festival of nine days when people worship Goddess Durga. She has nine different forms and each one has a special colour and a special food to offer. Shardiya Navratri 2023:

Date: Shardiya Navratri 2023 will start on Sunday, October 15, 2023 and end on Monday, October 23, 2023.
The tenth day is called Dussehra and it is when good wins over evil.

Kalash Sthapana Muhurat:

Kalash Sthapana means putting a pot with water, grains, coins, and other things that are good.

It is done on the first day of Navratri to welcome Goddess Durga in the pot.

The best time for Kalash Sthapana is from 11:44 AM to 12:30 PM.

Colours:
Each day of Navratri has a different colour that matches the form of Goddess Durga.

The colours for Shardiya Navratri 2023 are:
  
Day 1 (October 15): Yellow for Shailputri
Day 2 (October 16): Green for Brahmacharini
Day 3 (October 17): Grey for Chandraghanta
Day 4 (October 18): Orange for Kushmanda
Day 5 (October 19): White for Skandamata
Day 6 (October 20): Red for Katyayani
Day 7 (October 21): Royal blue for Kalaratri
Day 8 (October 22): Pink for Mahagauri
Day 9 (October 23): Purple for Siddhidatri

Significance:

Shardiya Navratri is a time to worship and seek blessings from Goddess Durga, who is the supreme power and the source of all creation.

It is believed that by fasting, praying, and performing various rituals during these nine days, one can get rid of all problems and get happiness and success.

Shardiya Navratri also celebrates the harvest season and the beauty of nature.

What to offer:

who fast during Navratri can offer different food items to Goddess Durga as prasad or bhog. Some of the common offerings are: fruits, dry fruits, milk, yogurt, coconut, jaggery, honey, sugar, and sweets made from these ingredients. Some specific offerings for each day are:

    - Day 3: Milk or kheer
    - Day 4: Malpua or sweet pancakes
    - Day 5: Banana or banana-based dishes
    - Day 6: Honey or honey-based dishes

    - Day 8: Coconut or coconut-based dishes
    - Day 9: Sesame seeds or sesame-based dishes
